About

Creativity With Tracey started several years ago as a way for me to share my love of crafting with others. I did craft classes in my basement for some groups and scout troops. I also did custom vinyl work for friends and family. After several years, my children grew up, the craft classes stopped happening, but my vinyl work for friends, coworkers, and family members grew!

My creativity journey started at a young age in my grandmother’s kitchen where I would sew leftover fabric swatches together from dresses she made me. I pursued a degree in Fashion Design at the University of Nebraska. As newlyweds, my husband and I moved to Dallas where I started my career in fashion design. I had several popular looks and worked in the industry for 15 years.

Jumping to March 2020, when a worldwide pandemic hit and masks could not be found for frontline workers, a friend asked if I could make cotton masks to be distributed around Kansas City. By May I had made and donated over 1,000 masks. My masks were a hit!

That summer I set up at the Olathe Farmer’s Market, off Blackbob Road. I was there every Saturday with a week’s worth of new masks to sell, plus more items I was making and designing. It was then I realized I needed help! I asked a coworker who had been furloughed alongside me to help, as well as my daughters and daughter-in-law. I made a new friend at the Farmer’s Market who also started helping me sew!

We were seeing repeat customers and making connections, so I decided to start finding more events and locations to sell my items. In June 2020 I made my business into an LLC and haven't looked back since!

As my business continues to grow, my oldest daughter works full-time to run our digital and social media presence, plus help out at in-person events.

I work with wonderful women whom I love! And I am excited to see what more is to come!
